Gain confidence on your bicycle, with our new free group cycle training. The sessions which are being introduced on a trial basis start in February.
The fun group sessions are suitable for anyone aged over 16 who can already cycle, and who would like to improve their skills and feel more confident on the road. There is no need to book, just drop in to the most convenient time.
On behalf of Ealing Council, Cycle Training UK will lead the training, which will start next to the tennis courts in Gunnersbury Park. They will have bikes available to borrow on the day so no need to worry if you don’t have a bike, just turn up a little early to ensure your space.
The benefit of training in a group allows for cyclists to meet like minded individuals and enjoy high quality training where you can learn from one another. Training is free to anyone who lives, works or studies in Ealing borough.
The training will start next to the tennis courts in Gunnersbury Park and are being run on:
- Sunday, 11 February 10-12.30pm or 1-3.30pm
- Sunday, 25 February 10-12.30pm or 1-3.30pm
- Sunday, 11 March 10-12.30pm or 1-3.30pm

Councillor Bassam Mahfouz, cabinet member for transport, environment and leisure said: Cycling is a healthy, cheap and quick way to get around for so many journeys but people need to feel confident before getting on two wheels. These friendly, enjoyable sessions show how easy it is and you will also get to meet lots of other people so there’s no pressure. Come along, you never know, you might just have fun!”
If you have never cycled before, or would just prefer an individual lesson, you can still book one for free.
