Still time to help shape the future of local parks

The recent creation of the Ealing Parks Foundation is set to give local people a greater say in their green spaces and Ealing Council is looking for residents to get involved.

The next stage of establishing the Foundation is to recruit charity trustees and applications are currently being welcomed.

If you are interested in supporting Ealing’s parks and have skills and experience such as fundraising, marketing, communications, recreation and conservation, then becoming a trustee could be the perfect answer.

The council announced last year it was establishing a Parks Foundation which will work collaboratively alongside it to support the future management and maintenance of Ealing’s parks and open spaces. It will operate as a charitable organisation with fundraising objectives, complete with input from residents, friend’s groups and a board of trustees.

The Parks Foundation will put local involvement at the heart of future decision making and aims to encourage volunteering and the use of the borough’s green spaces for a multitude of activities that will help local communities stay healthy and active.

The Foundation will also have a big say in the preservation, conservation and protection of local parks, particularly through community engagement projects.

You can complete your application using this document.

When complete, applications should be made  to the council’s Assistant Director via email and include your completed application form detailing how you meet or exceed the specification and your CV. Deadline for applications is midnight on 20 May 2019.

Check out the role criteria for trustees for further guidance on your application and read through some FAQs about the Ealing Parks Foundation.
