Residents who are not currently registered to vote are reminded to register as soon as possible, to be able to vote in the London Mayor and London Assembly (GLA) elections, which are taking place on 6 May.
The election was originally planned to go ahead last year but it was postponed because of the outbreak of COVID-19. The government has since confirmed it will take place this year, on 6 May, with COVID-secure measures in place.
An easy to use, online registration system is available on the national gov.uk website pages. The online system is a quick and secure way to register. If you do not have access to the internet, a paper form can be requested from Ealing electoral services office.
Residents who were registered to vote for the last UK parliamentary election, and still live at the same address, will be automatically registered and do not need to fill in the form again.
Those who have recently moved house, or who are registering for the first time, should go to the national gov.uk website pages and fill in their name, address, date of birth and national insurance number.
If you are not registered to vote, you will need to do so by 5pm on 19 April to be able to take part in these elections and have your say on who represents you on issues that affect you.
Some people may feel anxious about leaving home to vote during the pandemic, but the council will have measures in place to make polling stations COVID secure.
Voting can also be done from the comfort of your own home if you apply for a postal vote by 20 April.
