Ealing Council’s new-look, personalised, online My Account is the quickest way to manage your council tax and housing benefits.
Council tax bills will be posted out next month with a unique online key on the front which you will need to use to register and manage your account.
Part of Future Ealing
Improving the council’s digital services is a major part of its Future Ealing programme. The council is continuing to transform how it delivers its services to residents and businesses to make them more modern and efficient, while focusing on improving lives for residents.
Using My Account will give you more flexibility, allowing you to access to your information at a time that suits you, from wherever you are. Additional services are expected to be added to My Account later this year.
When your bill arrives
If you have not already, go to www.ealing.gov.uk/myaccount to register for a new online account.
Once you have registered, go to ‘view your council tax’ and use your unique online key to access your council tax account. You will also be asked for your postcode.
My Account can help you make payments, view your account balance and instalment plan. You can also request paperless billing and apply for discounts and exemptions.
Smarter way to pay
It is also quicker to set up a direct debit for your council tax bill, change your bank details, address or let us know about other changes to your circumstances through My Account.
Direct debit is the easiest way to pay your council tax bill. You choose when you pay each month and you only have to set up your payment once. Direct debits can be cancelled at any time.
You can also pay in person at any of Ealing Council’s 150 PayPoint outlets. Check www.paypoint.co.uk/paypointlocator for your nearest.
You can use My Account to check if you are eligible for a council tax reduction or the details of your award – and you can use My Account to choose to pay in 12 instalments, instead of 10, from April 2020 to March 2021.
Take a look at the council’s frequently asked questions for more information on what you need to do to get started.
Councillor Bassam Mahfouz, the council’s cabinet member for finance and leisure, said: “Digital improvements are an important part of what it means to be a modern and forward-thinking organisation and are central to our Future Ealing programme. We are committed to helping residents access their information and be able to do business with us 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Online services through My Account is a big step towards that.
“Once My Account is complete, many of the council’s services will be online in one place and accessible in a single, convenient and easy-to-use site.”
