Census Weekend 2021

This weekend is the deadline for completing the 2021 census and everyone living in Ealing are reminded to complete their form.

The census is a once-in-a-decade survey that provides the most accurate estimate of all the people and households in England and Wales. Census day is this Sunday, 21 March and by now, every household will have received a census letter to advise them of the legal requirement to participate in the census and the unique code that allows them to do so.

Households can choose whether to complete the survey online or by post. If you, or someone you know, requires help completing their census, Ealing has three local census support centres where help is available. The trained support centre staff can help complete the form either online or, for those who are not connected or simply require a paper version, on paper.

Help is available by calling any one of the following support centres:

  • West Ealing Library, Melbourne Avenue – 07915 310179
  • KBM (Park Royal), Concord Road – 020 8992 4506
  • Rectory Park Community Centre, Rectory Park Avenue – 07737 945225

Individuals can check the census website for opening times and phone ahead for appointments.

You can also get help from and view translated guidance on completing your form at www.census.gov.uk or calling the free helpline on 0800 141 2021. Anyone who is unable to complete their own census can get someone they trust, like a family member or friend, to complete it for them. If you are completing it on behalf of someone else, you will need their paper form, or the access code from their census letter.

The Town Hall in Ealing Broadway will light up purple from 19 to 21 March to raise awareness of the Census 2021 weekend. On Saturday, 20 March, to support the UN anti-racism day, the council will also be flying the UN flag in support of this day.
