This is Ealing exhibition – residents go for free

May 28, 2021

A photography exhibition capturing residents’ lives and experiences in the borough during the COVID pandemic has opened.

Contributions to the This is Ealing exhibition will adorn the walls at Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery, in Mattock Lane, Ealing, for everyone to enjoy. There are nearly 200 photographs on show, ranging from a restorative return to nature with vegetables grown from seeds, to tender moments with a premature newborn baby in hospital.

Entry to the exhibition, which takes place from 27 May-6 June is free to residents of the borough, but you will still need to get a ticket. Tickets can be booked online.

Councillor Jasbir Anand, Ealing Council’s cabinet member for thriving communities, said: “This is a wonderful exhibition capturing an extraordinary time in our lives. Life in lockdown has looked very different for people. It has brought moments of sorrow and sadness to some, but it has also brought hope and joy to many lives too and it is important to be able to reflect on this. It’s wonderful to have this permanent and creative record. I am really looking forward to visiting the exhibition.”

A number of measures have been introduced to make sure the listed manor house building and its gallery are safe and inspiring places for everyone. All visitors will need to pre-book their tickets and there is a one-way system to help with social distancing.

A new display, Soane Restored, is also open to visitors and reveals the fascinating story of how Pitzhanger was restored to its original vision.
