You might be able to join more than 200 local homeowners who have installed solar panels on their homes to get ‘clean’ electricity – and lower their energy bills, too. This is thanks to a scheme called Solar Together.
Ealing Council is working in partnership with iChoosr to offer Solar Together to residents. It is part of the Mayor of London’s Energy for Londoners programme, and brings households and local councils together to get high quality solar panels at a competitive price from pre‑vetted suppliers.
It is easy to sign up to. Watch the video above for a simple guide.
In the recent past, people who have signed up have made an average saving of 35%.
So far, hundreds of local homes have signed up and the next round of Solar Together will take place this spring. All homeowners in the borough can register an interest for free and without obligation at solartogether.co.uk/ealing
When you register online, you will be asked questions about your house, roof, and your electricity usage. Based on the information you provide you will receive an estimate for the ideal number of solar panels for your roof.
Once an auction with pre-vetted energy companies is held to get the best deals available, Solar Together provides you with impartial information and a personal recommendation to make sure you get a package that would be best suited to you. And you can then decide whether or not to accept the offer.
Council leader Julian Bell said: “We are committed to making a significant impact on reducing carbon emissions in the borough.
“Solar Together is the ideal opportunity for people to compare and make informed choices on solar power, and we encourage residents to register. They could get high quality solar panels for a competitive price and, potentially, lower their energy bills as well as helping to reduce harmful CO2 emissions.”
