Welcome to the March 2021 edition of Around Ealing magazine. In it, we look at the local vaccination programme and the coronavirus testing options available (p10).
You can view interactive and PDF versions of the magazine below.
The summer edition will be out in June as we move back to a regular quarterly pattern (spring, summer, autumn, winter) and, hopefully, look forward to a life a little less dominated by COVID-19 as the year unfolds.
In this current issue, we feature the borough’s independent Race Equality Commission (p13) – and you can read an interview with its chairperson Lord Simon Woolley on this website.
We also look at an exciting new building approach for Ealing – involving retrofitting housing – which will transform the energy efficiency of the homes. This will not only make them far more environmentally friendly, it will also dramatically slash bills for energy.
On a similar tack, we look at the council’s new Biodiversity Action Plan as the latest element of its climate action strategy.
We also take an exclusive early look inside the new Gunnersbury Park Sports Hub’s sports hall.
Meanwhile, there is an update on LTNs; a chat with some local businesses as the high street taskforce sets to work on helping our town centres survive and thrive; and much more.
Please remember to keep up to date with things by signing up for our regular Ealing News Extra emails via My Account – and, of course, by regularly checking this website ealingnewsextra.co.uk. The site is often where we publish things first, along with a treasure trove of local history features.
