Have your say on high wire course

August 16, 2018

Local people are encouraged to have their say on proposals to bring a Go Ape high wire course to Gunnersbury Park. Go Ape offers a high wire adventure where participants will traverse at height from tree to tree and then zip line back to the ground.

The Gunnersbury Community Interest Company (CIC), which manages the park, is seeking the views of residents and users on having a course in Gunnersbury Park  before they make a final decision on its inclusion.

This consultation is open until 5pm on 1 September 2018. To have your say, simply complete a short online survey.

Local people are also invited to attend an on-site open event at Gunnersbury Park hosted by Go Ape to have the opportunity to ask any questions. This event will take place 12noon-6pm on 31 August, and 9am-5pm on 1 September.

Once all the consultation responses have been collated the results will be used to influence the CIC’s decision about the inclusion of the offer. Depending on the outcome the proposal may then go forward to the statutory consultation stage, planning and construction stages.

Gunnersbury Park is undergoing a  multi-million-pound regeneration project, which will include one of the largest outdoor sporting facilities in London that is due open to the public in summer 2019. When complete, it will boast a multi-use sports centre and gym, tennis courts and cricket pitches, alongside first-class football facilities. The project has also seen major work undertaken on the park’s historic buildings and grounds.
