Sunday market is here

October 7, 2016
W5 Food Market in front of Ealing Town Hall

Try a taste of something new and enjoy the atmosphere of a family-friendly food market coming to Ealing from this Sunday (9 October).

As we reported previously, local food, drink and events company Eat Me, Drink Me has teamed up with Ealing Council to set up a regular W5 Food Market in front of Ealing Town Hall. It trialled the space last year, to great success.

What will W5 Food Market be like? Well, you can expect a mix of some of the tastiest street food around, alongside stalls for local producers and for speciality food and drink sellers.

This Sunday you should find a pop up wine bar; a tea and macaroon tent; Sardinian food; truffles; a bakery; fresh farm produce including fruit, vegetables, meat and dairy; a fresh fish stall; pies; brownies, cheesecake; chilli sauces; and even live music. There’s plenty for children, too, with free activities and covered seating.

W5 Food Market 2016 dates:
  • Sunday 9 October 11am-4pm
  • Sunday 23 October 11am-3pm
  • Sunday 13 November 11am-3pm
  • Sunday 27 November 11am-3pm
  • Sunday 11 December 11am-3pm
  • Sunday 18 December 11am-4pm (Christmas Food Market)
  • Thursdays from 20 October, 12–3pm (street food only).

The Eat Me, Drink Me Collective is a local group of food, drink and event experts. It already runs Craft W5, a market that supports local designers and makers, at Ealing Broadway Shopping Centre.

It is headed up by Ealing resident Kate McKenzie, who said: “Sunday’s market will offer a fantastic alternative to your weekly supermarket shop. We offer everyday essentials as well as more unusual products, like Sardinian cheese, Spanish honey or homemade jams. Grab a glass of wine and a bite to eat with friends, or take advantage of the free crafts to entertain the kids – there’s something for everyone.”
